Review
Mystery Of The Nile documents the first expedition that traveled the Blue Nile river entirely from source to sea. The trip started from Lake Tana and followed the river as it travels through Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt, finally arriving to the Mediterranean sea. The expedition members navigated the river on a kayak and two rafts in 114 days, facing natural dangers such as the crocodiles that inhabit the river and the dangerous water falls and rapids. Along the way they stopped for visits to several historic sites where ancient civilizations lived and benefited from the river.
The film runs for just 47 minutes. It is an extremely condensed summary of an expedition that lasted almost four months. Originally released in IMAX format, it has stunning visuals, the aerial views of the river are breathtaking. As far as educational content there is some material in it, but probably not enough to satisfy those viewers with moderate interest and/or curiosity.
