Review
What makes this movie interesting is that all the actors are real Masai people speaking their native tongue. It provides a window into the lives of the ancient tribe from Kenya and Tanzania.
The story is based on tribal folk tales. The tribe is suffering from an extremely long dry season thought to be caused by the Red God, who takes the form of a big lion. All the village warriors are either sick or dead, so the elders have no other choice than to send a group of teenagers to find and kill this lion and with that bring the needed rain back. The boys will face hunger, cold nights, attacks from enemy tribes and ultimately their own fears and doubts about this powerful lion they need to kill.
If you are curious about the culture and lives of the Masai, or want to see the breathtaking landscapes of the East African Savanna this is good movie to watch.
